Procedure and Billing

A medical consultation and treatment at Prof. X’s practice typically involve two initial appointments, each lasting approximately one hour or longer (including preparation and follow-up time).

• Appointment 1: A comprehensive medical history is taken, and any necessary blood samples are collected.
• Appointment 2 (and, if needed, Appointment 3): The findings are reviewed, an individualized treatment plan is developed, and thorough guidance is provided. Any questions or uncertainties are addressed in detail.

Billing is generally based on the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ).
The total cost for the initial two appointments, including laboratory fees, typically ranges from €450 to €600, depending on the complexity and time required. Follow-up appointments are usually billed at approximately €150 to €250, varying with the level of effort involved.

Privately insured patients (PKV):

Treatment costs are generally covered by private health insurance; however, there is no guaranteed entitlement to reimbursement. Due to the significant time investment, fees are usually billed at 3.5 to 5 times the standard rate (depending on the effort involved). Any amounts not reimbursed must be paid by the patient.

Those with statutory health insurance (GKV):

Unfortunately, billing of the incurred costs through statutory health insurance is not possible.
Patients with statutory insurance will receive an invoice based on the GOÄ, which must be paid privately (self-pay).
